Weddings are always special, but there is something particularly special about photographing your friends. Nate and Jamie spent their third winter in Skagway this last year, and I was lucky to take their engagement photos. It was a cold, wintry day up on the pass, and Nate’s truck got stuck in the snow, leading Jamie and I to flag down a snow plow to pull us out. That’s the beauty of taking photos in Alaska, there’s guaranteed to be some sort of adventure.
But Nate and Jamie’s wedding was not wintry at all. It was a beautiful, sunny day on the Dyea Flats. Surrounded by friends and family, the two said I do in a sweet thicket of trees with the valley’s mountains towering on either side. It was perfect in every way, full of love, laughter, beauty and friends. Here’s a sneak peek into their special day. Congrats you two! So happy I was able to be a part of it.
