“Deb and Jen’s Big Gay Wedding”

Okay. So I think I should preface this post by saying I probably posted way too many photos. But let me follow that by saying I just couldn’t help it because this may have been the best wedding ever.
I met Deb this past summer when I worked at The Red Onion in Skagway. She is an all-over-the-place, crazy, outgoing bartender. And you can’t help but love her.
I met Jen last summer too. And when I saw the two of them, I couldn’t help but love them together.
But it wasn’t until I had the joy of shooting this wedding, that I saw just how perfect they are for one another.
Each piece of this wedding was thought out. The food, the decor, the dogs. Everything was perfect. It was made even more wonderful because I was surrounded by an assortment of my Skagway friends.
From a photographer’s perspective, this wedding was perfect because of the COLOR! SO MUCH COLOR!
Both the ceremony and reception took place at The Cree Estate in Palm Springs, CA. With two pools, palm trees, beautiful flora and more, this estate has the perfect amount of rustic charm.
The ceremony featured friends and family, reading poems and stories. Surprise ring bearers found the rings attached to their seats and delivered them to the brides. Dogs Olive and Carlos nestled on either side of these lovely ladies as they said their “I Do’s.”
After a heartfelt first kiss, Deb and Jen walked down the aisle as loved ones blew bubbles from all directions.
As if the ceremony wasn’t enough to melt mine and my camera’s heart, the reception featured a taco cart, personalized cups, a surprise appearance by Sonny and Cher singing “I Got You Babe,” swing dancing, DJ Lisa Parker, a photo booth and extra long sparklers.
But the icing on the cake came when party members jumped into the pool, fully clothed. Men in suits, ladies in dresses and even some smart enough to bring swim suits jumped into pools and hot tubs and celebrated a love between two of the sweetest women we know.
Thanks for giving us such an amazing night, but thank you even more for sharing your love with us all.
See you in Skagway, newlyweds! May your love continue to grow wherever you go.
